Dr. Cynthia L. Perry is a distinguished educator, Christian leader, and international speaker. She is a graduate from Loyola University in Chicago with an earned Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She has served both in academic settings and local church settings. A powerful communicator and teacher, she made history as the first African American to earn tenure in the School of Education at Edgewood College in Madison, WI, and later served as the Program Director of Early Childhood Education. She has also served in denominational leadership as the Director of Women’s Ministry for Converge Great Lakes where she served over 100 congregations.
Dr. Perry, a published author and founder of BreakFree Ministries, supports individuals in overcoming spiritual barriers and attaining freedom through faith. Her research focuses on spiritual formation, prayer, supporting children facing trauma and learning challenges, as well as training teachers both in the academy and church for effective and impactful ministry.
Dr. Perry, with 46 years of marriage and decades in ministry leadership, has inspired thousands in the U.S. and abroad. Pastor James Ford, retired senior pastor of Christ Bible Church and former host of Treasured Truth on Moody Radio, describes Dr. Cynthia Perry as “the best woman’s speaker he has ever heard.” Her passion for helping others walk in their God-given identity is the heart of her writing, speaking, and mentoring ministry. She sees her teaching, writing, and speaking ministry as a holy call from God and is grateful for any opportunity to share the truth of the gospel with others.
