Bruce was highly motivated and focused on financial success, dedicating much of his time to earning and building assets, while paying less attention to other areas of life. Despite his achievements, he felt unfulfilled and discussed this with a small group leader, who then invited him to study the Kingdom of God together.
The leader explained the importance of knowing whom to serve and understanding God’s will. The Kingdom of God is defined as God’s rule and authority over creation, particularly over those who follow His will, both now and in the future.
Bruce found lasting happiness in worshipping God, realizing it surpassed all his previous experiences. Worship involves acknowledging God’s role as creator, redeemer, and loving presence, while rejecting idols or anything that replaces God. He also recognized that serving Satan’s kingdom leads only to disappointment and emptiness.
In the end, Bruce’s life was transformed. He became an inspiration of light and hope for others, sharing his story and encouraging them to seek the true path to fulfillment. He learned that the greatest treasure was not found in material possessions, but in the love and grace of God.
And so, Bruce lived a life of purpose, joy, and peace, serving God and His Kingdom, and inspiring others to do the same.
What does God wish us to know about His Kingdom?
2 Kings 17:36-39 Amplified Bible (AMP)
You shall not fear (worship, serve) other gods. The covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget; you shall not fear other gods. But the LORD your God you shall fear [and worship]; then He will rescue you from the hands of all your enemies.”
King Assyria wanted the Israelites to understand why they should worship and serve the Lord, their protector. Only the Lord, who delivered them from Egypt with great power, deserves their worship.
It’s easy to let things like work, money, or possessions distract us from focusing on who truly deserves our worship.
Bruce’s journey is the realization that true fulfillment and happiness come from worshipping God and serving His Kingdom, rather than pursuing material success and worldly desires. Bruce’s transformation highlights the importance of recognizing God’s love, redemption, and creation, and the emptiness that comes from serving false gods and idols. By embracing faith, humility, and love, Bruce found peace, purpose, and joy, ultimately inspiring others to seek the true path to fulfillment in God’s Kingdom.
Application
1. We should worship the Lord as the only true God, who created us, redeemed us, and loves us. We should not follow or serve any idols, false gods, or anything that takes the place of God in our lives
2. We should obey the Lord’s commands, which are for our good and His glory
3. We should trust the Lord to deliver us from all our enemies, whether they are spiritual, physical, or emotional. We should rely on His power, presence, and promises, and not on our own strength or wisdom.
Dear Jesus,
We know our strength comes from you. Our hope is in You and the power of Your word. We know the importance of obeying Your Word and we fall short daily. Please forgive us and continue to be patient with us as we are learning how to walk with You and rely upon Your Words.
Teach us how to cast our cares on You and wait patiently for Your delivery. We know You care, You hear, You are concerned, and You answers. Your timing might not be what we expect, but Your timing is perfect.
We love you,
